Željko Ivanković is a sculptor predominantly working in stone and metal but he also paints and draws - keeping his practice informed and varied. When working with stone Željko tends to make figurative pieces, human or animal and he tends to let the stone lead the way - drawing the inspiration from the particular lump of rock and in a sense releasing the image from within it.
When working with metal, he has a very different, more deliberate and focused approach allowing Željko to get more
ambitious in terms of size and also to develop more ambitious ideas and abstract sculpture.
